It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is already upon us. Time to trim the tree, mail your holiday cards, attend family parties (make sure to spike your eggnog), wrap your gifts, and try to avoid singing along to that holiday music following you everywhere. You’ll be too busy shoveling snow and binge eating sugar cookies while watching It’s A Wonderful Life on repeat to worry about shopping, so leave that to us. We put together this season’s most outrageous holiday fashion– braving the malls is easier when you’re stylishly dressed–and the naughtiest beverages to keep you full of holiday cheer.

Skip the champagne in favor of a true man’s drink–single malt scotch. To make it through the dark, cold days of a New England winter Brahm Callahan (@BrahmCallahan), beverage director of local favorites like Harvest, Grill 23 & Bar, and Post 390 suggests cozying up with a decanter of MORTLACH 21 YEAR SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH. Callahan describes the potent liquid asbeing “aged exclusively in refill sherry casks giving it subtle tones of vanilla, cocoa, and smoke.” To complete the decadent ambiance, we suggest wearing a luxe velvet smoking jacket so you can drink in style.

Keeping it local, BOSTON HARBOR DISTILLERY combines small-batch brewing, cigars and comfortable leather seating in their historic factory. Around this time of year, the guys at Mr. Sid love relaxing with a glass of smooth whisky while wearing a pair of dark denim topped by a custom made holiday sportcoat. BHD Co-founder– and one of Zagat’s 30 Under 30 of 2015–Corey Bunnewith, knows his whiskey. A Boston native, Bunnewith worked alongside bartender John Gertsen at Drink where he was named one of the Top 10 plaid Up and-Coming Mixologists to Watch (Bev Media, 2009). Join the movement by sampling the wares at one of several local tastings this month and be sure to visit BHD for Whisky Wednesday on December 9th, 7-9pm.
